Field Trip Lunch Video

Field Trip Season is HERE!

Did you know your child can pick up a lunch from the cafeteria to take on their field trip?

Each Field Trip Lunch includes a meal pack (similar to a Lunchable), shelf stable milk, 2 vegetables, and 1-2 fruits. All for the same price your student currently pays for lunch.

Make sure to check the box on the field trip permission slip to indicate your student will recieve a lunch from the cafeteria. If there isn't a box, you can write directly on the permission slip to inform the teacher.

Sun Meals To Go

South Harrison Community School Corporation is eligible to distribute FREE summer meals to children 18 years of age and under. We will offer drive up weekly meal bags on Mondays from June 1 through July 27 from 10:30am-12:30pm at South Central Elementary School and Corydon Intermediate School.

Each meal bag will contain 5 breakfast meals and 5 lunch meals. Bags will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Only one bag per child per week is allowable. Meal bags may only be picked up at one site each week. Children receiving meals at the Boys and Girls Club are not eligible to receive meal bags.

The Summer Meals 2026 Survey should be completed prior to June 1, but can be completed at any time. South Harrison Community School Corporation students do not have to be present at pickup if the Summer Meals 2026 Survey is completed. The information collected in this survey will be used for planning purposes and to begin the verification process of children under 18 in households. Any child not enrolled in a South Harrison Community School MUST be present at pickup for verification.

Please complete the survey only if you are interested in picking up summer meals.  Survey completion does not reserve meals.

The survey should only be completed once unless your household information changes.

Sun Bucks

SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) will not be distributed during Summer 2026. We welcome families to pick up FREE summer meals at South Central Elementary School or Corydon Intermediate School through the SUN Meals To-Go progam.

Cucumber Craze

Farm to Summer is a promotion, presented by the Indiana Grown for Schools Network and the Indiana Department of Education, to encourage summer programs to incorporate more agriculture education and local purchasing into their summer programs. This year, cucumbers will be the focus. As part of this initiative, South Harrison Community Schools ordered cucumber seeds to be included in the first 200 weekly pick up meal bags.

Special Dietary Needs

South Harrison Community School Corporation adheres to specific United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) guidelines in providing special dietary accommodations for students. A "reasonable modification" is a change or alteration in practices or procedures to accommodate a disability the ensures that all students have equal opportunity to participate in or benefit from the program. In accordance with the criteria set forth in 7 CFR Part 15b, those students who are unable to eat the school meal as is due to a disability, medical need, and/or impairment are accommodated at no additional charge. Meal modification must be related to the disability or limitations cause by the disability. The USDA regulations for school nutrition programs does not require meal modifications for children whose special dietary needs do not constitute a disability, including those related to religious or moral convictions, general health concerns, and personal food preferences.

For severe food allergies and dietary modifications, please have your student's doctor complete and sign the Special Dietary Needs Form. Please turn this from into your student's school nurse.
