
Some of the 8th grade Advanced Science students took a field trip this week to Tell City, IN. They worked with the Living Lands and Water organization to remove 1,451 lbs of trash from the shores, including items such as tires, plastics, metal, blankets, etc. What an excellent way to learn, serve, and help clean up the environment!





This week the Exploring College and Career classes heard from Claudia Yundt, the director of Squire Boone Caverns. The students learned about being in both hospitality and tourism as well as running a business.


Our 8th graders went on a field trip this morning to the Expo Center in Louisville to learn about different careers. The students came back with lots of goodies and information.





Kona Ice will be here during lunch on Friday.


ISO - New or gently used artificial Christmas trees and decor are needed for a HOUSE fundraiser activity. The trees will be decorated by our students and auctioned off to support our House system (building soft skills and character program). All donations can be dropped at the CCJHS office door #9. Chef Scott Dickenson, owner of the 1816 restaurant in downtown Corydon, visited the 8th grade Exploring College and Career classes. He spoke about becoming a chef, demonstrated how to properly use some kitchen tools, and made a snack for students to try.

In Mrs. Lear’s class, 7th graders are learning beginning block coding.


This week in Exploring College and Careers class, the 8th graders got to hear from a former Corydon graduate, Kendall McKiever. She is now a chemical engineer at Michelin.


Career speakers are back! Officer Schreck shares his job of being an Indiana Conversation Officer with our 8th grade ECC students. He even brought his canine partner, Smokey!
